The outcomes of Texas revamping their standardized testing has in terms of expecting more writing prompts from students makes me think that how writing is taught needs to be revamped and changed as well. Students from the elementary age and up to high school need to know how to truly write effectively especially for higher education. Are these writing prompts helping students become successful writers in higher education or are they just to appease the T.E.A. belief in more rigourous testing?
